How are Human Rights Violated?
The Rohingya Muslims are being heavily persecuted for their religion. This directly defies every human's right to freedom of religion. Thousands of murders and vandalisms have taken place on the Rohingya minority. These also defy the Muslims right to live and to own items as most of their items have been burned in riots. The Burmese government has oppressed the Muslims and see them as second class citizens. Vandalisms and murders take place daily in Burma with little to no government action or help. Many Muslims try to escape the country by their small fishing boats, but unfortunately most southern Asian countries will not take them as refugees and they are left stranded at sea to die.
One of the most significant events in this ethnic cleansing happened in June of 2012.
